It’s not often you see a rising star who’s been around forever, but that’s Ki Creighton – an absolute bastion of proper house music over three decades, but now this is his time in the spotlight.

After launching his label “Under No Illusion” in 2013, his rise has been stratospheric… in fact he’s managed to make it all the way up to Space to DJ for Carl Cox, not to mention a guest spot at Ushuaia as part of Emerging Ibiza. But where did he emerge from?

The Scottish Borders to be precise, but for years and years he’s been a face on the scene across the north of England, DJing at the likes of Circus in Liverpool, Shindig in Newcastle and his spiritual home, Uber in Carlisle, where he’s been resident DJ from the very beginning in 2005, helping to transform the night from a small gathering to a northern powerhouse that packs out thousands.

On the Uber dance floor he’s DJ’d with the likes of Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, Hot Since 82, Yousef, Nic Fanciulli, Eats Everything, Justin Martin etc. etc., but more than that; he’s been the larger-than-life character that gets the party started. Everyone knows Ki Creighton – he has been a man about town since the 90s when he used to party at the Hacienda and Cream. It was at Cream that he became best mates with a young Yousef – before he made it big and built his Circus empire – and now Ki is going the same way, releasing on Yousef’s Circus Recordings with his partner in crime, Kydus, and on a whole host of other quality labels like Riva Starr’s Snatch!, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero’s Bambossa and Nick Curly’s 8Bit.

He’s always been in this kind of company – in fact, he used to give Calvin Harris a lift to work every morning – but only now has he really pushed himself in the studio… and just look at the results! This man is an example of where hard work and passion can get you – how moving with the times but staying true to your house roots can tear it up in the big league.

All rise for Ki Creighton: the life and soul of the party!
